Morning News

  • Futures are down a bit pointing to a slightly lower open this morning.
  • August Personal Income and Spending report out this morning at 8:30 am.
  • September Chicago PMI today at 10:00 am.
  • University of Michigan to release final September reading of Consumer Sentiment this morning as well.
  • Boeing (BA) Machinists Union votes for a new 3 year contract ending strike.
  • Hurricane Katrina has forced 279,000 people out of jobs so far.
  • Callaway Golf (ELY) cutting jobs in a restructuring effort to save $70 million over the next 2 years. The company has also stated 3rd quarter earnings will come in short of the streets expectations.
  • Crude Oil currently $66.81 per barrel.
  • Wholesale Gasoline is down a bit currently $2.18 per gallon.
  • Natural Gas is up again this morning remains above $14.00 per unit.
  • Gold is $476.50 per ounce.
