Morning News

  • Futures are flat this morning could see a slightly higher open.
  • Energy Department to release Oil Inventories today at 10:30 am.
  • Commerce Department to release August Retail Sales Report today.
  • Federal Reserve to release August Industrial Production Report as well today.
  • General Electric (GE) is preparing to restructure or sell some of the companies industrial businesses.
  • Duke Energy (DUK) to sell some of it's electrical power plants in the northeast and west.
  • Delta and Northwest both companies prepared to file for bankruptcy as early as today.
  • Hurricane Ophelia now packing winds of 75 mph. The storm is slowly making it's way toward the Carolina coast. The slow moving storm is expected to dump as much as 15 inches of rain on some areas.
  • Crude oil is up slightly to $63.60 per barrel.
  • Wholesale gasoline is also up a bit to $1.91
  • Gold is currently $451.80 per ounce.
