Striking Northwest mechanics hit the picket line
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- The mechanics' picket line at San Francisco International Airport early Saturday afternoon was small and quiet, but union members said they are angry and frustrated about their labor dispute with Northwest Airlines.
"People are really angry," said Richard Turk, communications officer for the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association Local 9, based in San Bruno, Calif. "We want the airline to thrive. We just don't want them doing it off our back."
