Morning News

  • Futures are up pointing to a higher open this morning.
  • Nothwest Airlines has until midnight to settle it's labor dispute with mechanics. If talks fail a shutdown would almost certainly force bankruptcy for the airline.
  • Savient Pharma (SVNT) has recieved delisting notice from the Nasdaq for the companies failure to reports it's quarterly report in a timely manor.
  • Google Inc. (GOOG) it has been 1 year since the company began trading on the nasdaq.
  • Crude oil is up today on concerns of production problems in Ecuador. Protest have forced the suspension of exports. Also helping oil this morning are the comments from Merrill Lynch raising '2005 and '2006 estimates on oil. Yesterday it was Goldman Sachs who raised their estimates.
  • Crude Oil is currently up just over 1 dollar to $64.33 per barrel.
  • Gold is currently $444.80 per ounce.
