Why is the Closing Price Significant?

We ran this article from Jon Tait the Fickle Trader a few weeks ago but thought it was worth repeating with some examples. The other day DSTI had momentum and we said if the stock closes strong it could be a momentum play. If you bought DSTI toward the close and sold it out in the first hour of trading you would of profited. BDCO had momentum the other day as well and closed strong. If you had bought at the close and sold out the next day in pre-market you would of profited. We call a stock closing strong a momentum play.

Think of Selling Everything Before the Close? Don't Pull the Trigger!
